The highlight of his university career was winning the National Championship on home soil in 2011. Wesley played soccer for the Vikes from 2008-2013. He moved over to Victoria at 19 to go to the University of Victoria to pursue his post-secondary education and play Varsity Soccer for the Vikes. Rec and Health, Assistant House Parent - Ellis, Head Soccer Coachīorn and raised in Richmond BC, Wesley is going into his 4th year at Brentwood and 3rd year as head of soccer. Fougner and her husband Paul have two children.ī.A. Fougner coached the Brentwood senior girls volleyball team to back-to-back provincial championship titles in 20. She was the assistant coach for Team BC in 2007 which won the gold medal at the Western Canada Games and was named volleyball coach of the year for Vancouver Island (2006-2007). Along with her assistant coach, Mike Minckler, Ms. She is currently the head of the volleyball programme. Fougner joined the Brentwood coaching staff in 2000, and became Assistant Houseparent of Gwynneth House, now Allard, in 2001. Her retirement from this immodestly clad sport brought her home to Victoria where she led the coaching staff of University of Victoria varsity volleyball programme for seven years.

Fougner moved to Australia to play professional beach volleyball. Upon graduating from the University of Victoria with a degree in psychology, Ms. She was also named best setter at the 1989 national championships. Fougner competed for the University of Victoria where she was named to the Inter-University Athletic Unions All-Canadian team four times. At the age of 18, she was selected to join Canada's national volleyball team shortly after she re-located to the national training centre in Ottawa, she represented her nation in the 1982 World Volleyball championships in Peru. Fougner was a member of the BC championship teams and was a member of the BC volleyball team for four years. Her teenage years were divided busily between softball and volleyball. This connection to high performance soccer on the island and the Western Canada College ID Camp allows for soccer players to join a program that will help players achieve future soccer goals.ī.A (University of Victoria) Head of Volleyball, Soccerīorn and raised in Victoria, BC, Jill Fougner competed in a wide variety of sports as a child. WCCID is the largest and only week long residential ID camp that brings in multiple university coaches around North America (U Sport, NCAA, NAIA) to watch, coach, and recruit young male and female soccer players. We give these players opportunities to excel on the field with Brentwood as well as within club teams.īrentwood Soccer is run by Wes Barrett, Co-founder of EPIC Sport and the Western Canada College ID Camp (WCCIDC). Within the Brentwood soccer program we have players that play high performance soccer outside of the school. Our long term approach to player development focuses on developing better thinkers on the field, not just winning games. When juniors play we are preparing them to be ready to play with the seniors in either one year or two years.
Second term is when any girls and boys can play and develop. boys compete in the first term and girls compete in the third term.
